Inspired by Qaiu Ying’s Ming Dynasty painting Scenes of Bustling City Life in the South, City Brew reinterprets the energy of historic urban streets within a contemporary hospitality setting.

Designed for the Jinmao Westin Hotel Nanjing, the coffee booth brings together references to traditional Chinese culture and modern coffee rituals. Market scenes, architectural rhythms, and the atmosphere of everyday street life are translated into a compact spatial experience for guests on the move.

AMCP Studio approached the booth as a small urban stage within the hotel environment. Through layered visual references, warm material expression, and clear functional planning, the design creates a welcoming grab-and-go point that feels both culturally rooted and contemporary.

Rather than treating the coffee booth as a purely service-driven fixture, City Brew frames it as a moment of encounter — a place where local history, hospitality, and daily ritual briefly meet.
