Commissioned by Cindy Chao for her Taipei art museum, Life in Winter was created to present the vitality of her jewelry within a quiet winter landscape.

The window display connects Chao’s sculptural jewelry language with the resilience of nature. Delicate floral forms glow like lanterns against a snowy scene, creating a sense of life emerging from stillness. Within this setting, the jewelry is not presented as a static object, but as part of a living environment shaped by light, texture, and seasonal transformation.

AMCP Studio developed the installation as a modular design that could be adapted across two seasons. This approach allowed key elements to be reconfigured rather than remade, extending the life of the display while reducing material waste and lowering the project’s carbon footprint.

Through a restrained composition of snow, light, and botanical forms, Life in Winter reflects the quiet strength of nature and the enduring vitality at the heart of Cindy Chao’s work.
