Set in the imagined year 2249, Land of Tomorrow presents the discovery of the “Shallow Water Fan Thorny Fish,” a relic unearthed near Keelung’s Ba Chi Men Fishing Port. Marked by carbonization and mineral traces, the fossil reflects the consequences of ocean warming, overfishing, and ecological collapse in the early 21st century.

Through speculative DNA recombination, the project imagines the revival of lost species—returning them symbolically to Keelung’s waters as a reflection on memory, loss, and the future of marine ecosystems.
